Training together – how motivation works

People are social creatures, and this can be seen in sports too. Training with a group of like-minded people not only helps the body, it also improves mental strength. Setting joint goals, overcoming barriers and taming the inner lazybones is not just good fun, it also provides additional motivation.

Our tips:

  1. regular instead of occasional

Every start is difficult, but if you stay on the ball, you will be rewarded for it. Make one evening a week your exercise evening and show Netflix and friends the cold shoulder. It doesn’t matter what the goal of your sport is: if you train with friends, you’ll stick with it.

  1. Get some air on your lunch break

If you think you should just crack a window open over lunch, think again! It’s your head that needs the air. Instead of spending your lunch break in your office chair, we recommend you get some fresh air and go for a jog with your colleagues. Do you find it difficult? Work on it.

  1. Looking for a connection?

There are people who always need to party. This is true in sports, too. They are easy to help, for example by going to a club. You could go to the gym regularly, join a running club or do group yoga in the park. Doing things together is just better, and even those without an athletic bone in their body can be kept on their toes.

  1. Parcours with a dog

It’s hard to imagine at the moment, but next summer is on its way. Then you will be able to go to the nearest forest again for a gentle jog, brisk walk, tree trunk hopping and ring swinging. If you’ve got a dog, you should take it with you. Let it jump on the trunks and run slalom through the trees, then the dog and the owner will keep fit through play. Do a lunge at the end and let your four-legged friend slide underneath your bent leg. With a treat in front of them, it’ll work like clockwork.

  1. Be my workout buddy

If you’re in a relationship, you have a workout partner right there. How do you feel about skipping together? Each person grabs one end of the skipping rope and off you go. You can skip together for a minute. Then each person skips along for one minute. It really works up a sweat and requires a good general condition. Warming up together encourages both of you and warms up your muscles.

Let’s go!
